Food Porn Friday- Ink Part II

Don’t ya just hate it when your return visit to a previously LOVED eatery yields less than desired results?  When the cuisine was initially sooooo bomb.com that you advertised it as such and rounded up the entire posse for a night on the town, only to be met with satisfactory service and a hastened supper?  With a super packed Saturday night crowd and a kitchen bursting at the seams I felt rushed to finish my $100+ meal when all I really wanted to do was relax and enjoy the spread.   Eh, at least the presentation was still right on point.

 Misty point oysters, mignonette ice

Spring peas, dungeness crab, almond sponge, clam jus

Asparagus cooked in hay, goats milk ice, smoked oil

La quercia berkshire ham, beets, yogurt, nutmeg oil

Beef tartare, hearts of palm, sea bean chimichurri, horseradish, rye

Hamachi, dill pickle papaya, buttermilk curds, sesame tempura

Lollipop kale, lardo, pigs ears, togarashi

 Corn, miso, housemade doritos, nori

Octopus, ink, shells, young fennel, pimenton

Lamp neck, fried egg, yogurt curd, potato, wild herbs

Suckling pig, sweet potato, mustard bavaroise, green apple

 Lamp belly, farro, kale, vadouvan

Note to self:  Keep in mind the curse of the ever omnipresent West Hollywood hotspot.  Once it’s IN, get on your way OUT.  Don’t believe me?  Simply book your next dinner on a weekend and watch as this beauty turns into an ENTIRELY different beast.

But please don't be completely discouraged, I think 3rd time's the charm fosho!  Read my first review of Ink. HERE and see why I'll DEFINITELY be back for more Michael!

TGIF my loves!!!

Hope everyone celebrates a festive and fun Memorial Day weekend!
Bon appétit mes amis!

I’m quite guilty of this too guys…really trying to make a conscious effort to simply eat without instagramming and live without documenting….

At least ONE day per week ;D
Gotta start somewhere right!?!

Scenes from a Hollywood-themed Baby Shower

She’s a big-time Emmy-winning entertainment sports producer, he’s a huge action hero movie star, together they are bonafide Hollywood A-listers whom just happen to be my near and dear friends.  So it was only fitting that we shower Annie and Robin's baby-on-the-way with a megawatt celebration fit for the new upcoming star in their lives- Baby Brandon!

Another amazing cake design by Taylor Cake Creations!!!  Love that red-carpet runner!
Oscar gold for good luck :D  And a sound stage for impromptu karaoke!
Hollywood walk of fame leads up to the red carpet walk!
Watch out for paparazzi!
Shaded seating to beat the heat!
It's ALL about the props!

Lights!  Camera!  A star is born!
Don't say "baby" game!  Say the word, you lose a clip!
Sundays are perfect for brunching with champagne mimosas!
The incredible gourmet buffet...yummmmms!
Baby bingo!  Match the celebrity with their baby!
Event designs are my FAVE type of entertainment productions...what's better than booze and babies???  (Not that they go together at all! hahaha)
Mama's growing belly is one of the MOST gorgeous I've ever seen!

Event Design:  Yours truly :D

Home Tour: Melanie Duncan

It’s been a HOT minute since a home tour stopped me dead in my tracks.  Not for the over-the-top fabulousness of furniture, nor for the brilliant assortment of accessories and objets d’art but I swear Melanie Duncan’s home is a spitting image of how my LA pad’s developed over the past few months.  Matte gray symmetrical bookshelves, check!  Black and white striped upholstery, check!  Gilded gold ceiling, checkmate honey!  Great minds really DO think alike!

Can’t wait to show y’all the FINAL reveal…We’re approximately 3 weeks away and counting!  Eeeeeek- sooo friggin’ excited!  You think I can call the RUE gals down to make a cameo??  Gotta rethink those dark walls so you’re not seeing double honey!

Hope your week's off to the most glamorous start!
Happy Monday my loves!
