Trendspotting: Red Carpet Golden Globes

Does Angelina Jolie ever have an "off" day?  I don't think so dude.  She single-handedly put the glamour back in the Globes and for that, I seriously bow down and salute the siren who not only KILLED the red carpet, but showed that a pop of color is all any starlet really needs.  Well, that and a gorgeous man on her hands.  My top picks...and the design trends that are perfectly in sync this spring's offerings...
 Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace:  How relevant to the pop of color trend discussed below.  The stunning red architectural detail of the neckline...the matching red lips...red bag...the ONLY time matchy-matchy looks downright delicious.  Tip to toe perfection.

 Salma Hayek in Gucci:  Art deco decadence is on top of everyone's list next season.  Ralph Lauren doles out an entire collection of home goods in black, gold, and GLAM!  Spring trends are all about marrying architectural tidbits in fashion and interiors.  A little zig here, a little zag there.  It's all about movement when simply lying still.

 Charlize Theron in Dior Haute Couture:  Of all the spring trends, pastels may be the trickiest for me.  I don't naturally steer towards light and feminine shades, but pale pink feels very demure and subtly sexy at the same time.  Keep accessories minimal and gauzy for an all-over luminous glow.  And of course a little bling never hurt anyone.

 Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang:  Navy is the new black.  Modern, sophisticated, and very masculine-chic...Navy is the blue hue everyone's turning to for a bit of update on inky color.  More versatile than you might think...pairs beautifully with contrasting pops of brights.  Think tangerine or bursts of yellow for home accessories.

Did y'all catch the Globes?  What did you think of the red carpet fashion trends?
Hits/ Misses??

Hope your Monday is off to the most productive start so far!

{BTW, Daily Women a french fashion blog recently did a little q&a with yours truly regarding personal style and my take on women's fashion in history and present day society.  Please show them some love and peep the interview out HERE.  Thank you to Olivia and Mariam for the feature!  Keep up the awesome work ladies!}
