Trendspotting: Vintage Maps

I've been itching to travel abroad since the new year began.  Dreaming of going back to the motherland this Fall (up and down the entire Vietnam countryside) with all my besties, but in the meantime allowing my thoughts to randomly drift off to destinations I've already visited and those I've yet to see.  Europe during springtime...the Caribbean during winter...wouldn't it be nice to dedicate an entire art wall to mapped locales, both domestic and international?  If you build it, he will come.  Or in this case, if you see it, you WILL go!

images 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Ebay and Etsy's got such a fabulous selection of vintage colored and b/w maps, but if you can't find what you're looking for there, check HERE and HERE for alternatives.
Thanks for reading y'all!
Hope your Monday's off to the most inspired start!

I love this idea - travel and exploration are my life, and it's always nice to stay motivated for the next adventure! And vintage (or vintage-y) maps just look so dang cool all grouped together.

I love maps used in interior design. My dad does too so I got him a really big one for his birthday one year and got it framed. It's so modern and different when there's a full wall as a map. I've yet to see this but an alternative way to incorporate it would be as the top of a table but then have clear glass over it.getting carried away with creative thoughts here. Great pictures anyways.

Love this post! Great roundup of vintage maps.

I love maps also - I have one huge vintage Baltimore railroads map that we found for a steal at a thrift shop. And I have a Restoration Hardware wannabe that is a huge map of Constantinople (replica) that reminds me of our vacation in Turkey.
