This is probably the closest you’ll ever see me to rocking a suit nowadays.  Wide leg trousers (preferably in linen for spring/summer), a super graphic tee (totally going tribal), a wide vintage belt (another FAB score from the Long Beach Flea), and a shrunken jacket ALWAYS does the trick.  As an interior designer, I’m able to get really creative with business casual ensembles substituting crisp button-ups for crazy patterns or simple blazers for suede and velvet counterparts.  Clients almost seem to expect innovation and imaginative ideas; first from my wardrobe and then on paper as it pertains to their project.  It’s a 24/7 job, this designing…and I couldn’t imagine it any other way.

Food Porn Friday- Chef's Bet Payout Dinner

Dude, I have THE.COOLEST.FRIENDS.EVERRRRRR!!!  Not only are they total foodies (yes, like the rest of y'all I'm sure), but they live and die fine dining and haute cuisine.  So much in fact that the losers of superfluous amounts of random bets are left to devise, conceptualize, cook, and execute multiple course meals with wine pairings, molecular gastronomy, gold leafed desserts…the whole SHABANG!  Ok, only kidding on those last few, but remember THIS?  They don’t mess around mang!  The beauty of these bets is that I get to just sit back, relax, snap a few pix, down a few shots and simply get served!  I don’t bet, but I ALWAYS feel like #winning!

 lallalalalaallaLOBSTER!  Although, I'm allergic, phooooey!

 Roasted Bone Marrow with sauteed leaks atop toasted baguette...

My FAVE of the night...look at the dripping gooey goodness...Yuuuummmmmm!

Fish Out of Water

I snagged this little glittery vintage paillette party top from the Long Beach flea just a few Sundays ago.  There she was, glistening and gleaming in the midst of a commercial garment rack jammed in between polyester pant suits and other sequin thingamajigs just waiting for someone to love her. 

Thank God that someone was me as I shrieked out a heart-happy “Hellllllllo luvahhhh!”  in my best Carrie Bradshaw impersonation as I snatched her up before anyone else caught wind of her amazing glory!...Rows upon rows of shimmering shiny specs, singularly hand-stitched and sewn right onto a form-fitting 70’s dolman-type sweater.  Almost untouched by time and unfazed by the sea of wandering lookie-loos at the flea. 

Oman I could see her making many cameos at fancy-schmancy shindigs this entire season…backyard bbq fêtes (pictured above)...quick trips to the market…walking the dog…picking up poop…ahhhh imagine the possibilities!  Hey man, who says you have to save the “special” pieces for something “special” right?
